from 2:30 - 8:30 pm

discussion for those interested in contributing "more"
through their careers and personal lives
Hosted by The

Impact Chapter
MIT Sloan School
of Management, Bldg. E-51 Wong Auditorium
The MIT Sloan
Socially Responsible Business Club and the Babson Net Impact Chapter
are pleased to host this special event open to everyone interested
in making a difference through their life and work. There is a growing
demand for more information about careers in corporate social responsibility,
social entrepreneurship, socially responsible investing, and the
non-profit and public sectors generally. Additionally, many people
want to explore their options for giving back to their communities
outside of their professional lives. These may include becoming
active in philanthropy, volunteering their time, or serving as board
members for organizations. Unfortunately, many do not know how to
get the information they need to start making a difference in a
way best meets their own needs and goals. Through a series of speakers,
panel discussions and a networking session, this symposium will
help students and social sector professionals connect and begin
to address these important inquiries.
To maximize
learning opportunities, the symposium will bring together seasoned
social sector professionals and area-focused students with others
who may be new to this area and might have "always wanted to
ask" what the social sector is all about and what they can
do. Our hope is that everyone will both share and benefit from the
community that will gather for this event. To further this goal,
we will end the afternoon with a networking session in which students
and other attendees can mingle with panelists and speakers to learn
more about career paths and volunteer opportunities.
Beth Tener
of SSNE will be presenting a talk entitled "The Big Picture:
Pathways to Find Meaningful Work in Our Changing World"
