Welcome to the Sustainable Step New England (SSNE) web site. The free tools offered here are designed to help organizations and individuals to advance sustainability, including how to:

• Teach sustainability from concept to action;
• Make change happen in organizations;
• Create cross-sector dialogues to overcome systemic barriers to change; and
• Facilitate networks of sustainability practitioners to speed up learning and enhance collaboration.

SSNE created, refined and worked with these tools for over 10 years. As these concepts became more widely adopted, we saw that sustainability initiatives were shifting to sector-specific areas, such as greening hospitals or universities, and specialized organizations and consultants were now serving these sectors. The SSNE board decided the time had come to “sunset” our organization, while ensuring that the work we’ve developed can live on and be of use to many others.

We offer our tools and what we learned freely in the hope they will act as seeds in fertile ground, helping people and organizations all over the world to foster sustainability.
